Hand-me-downs

Being the oldest child, I never experienced many hand-me-downs. I do remember getting bags of clothes from family friends who had 2 older girls...it was fun to rummage through and find something "new" to wear. One item I remember is an off the shoulder sweatshirt (it was the 80's). I don't recall actually wearing it, but it sure seemed cool at the time! During this last pregnancy, I enjoyed some much needed hand-me-downs from my friend Ashley and Tricia. Thanks girls! Samuel has benefited from hand-me-downs as well. It has been fun to dress Samuel up in Andrew's old clothes. Many friends have dropped off clothing items and baby gear too. Here are a few cold weather items Sam is enjoying during our "cold snap."

Hope that cold snap is treating you ok. Just so the Floridians don't feel too bad, it was -18 degrees Farenheit here last week.

I love hand-me-downs. I have not bought a single outfit for Davy thanks to the generosity of one family.

I remember crying growing up because I always got Joe's hand-me-downs. Our guys don't seem to have this aversion. It is so funny to see Caleb get excited when Ben gets clothes that he likes. He has said at many occasions, "I can't wait until that will be mine." Thanks for posting.

Yup, hand-me-downs are fun! No cost, usually like new/especially the baby things/and then they're passed on to someone else. I was girl #3 so the only new things I remember were an occasional dress for church which was always super special. When I went to public school in the 9th grade I got lots of new clothes since I had worn uniforms at St. Benedict's. I shared a closet with my sister, Bertie. I always thought that her clothes were cuter than mine, so I'd sneak and wear something of hers as often as I could. That made her mad, but I guess I thought it was worth it cause I continued doing it all through high school:)

Sam looks so much bigger already, I can't believe it!! Give him a squeeze from the Bradfords.
